Our iconostasis is being built by an experienced team of woodcarvers, painters and artists lead by a Priest. It's expected to be ready to ship in the fall of 2024.

Dear Brothers and Sisters!

Since the old times, building and restoring churches was considered a great virtue and an act of good deed. Therefore, churches were built all together, as “one world”. All poor and rich contributed to such a holy cause.

With God’s blessings, we are nearing the completion of the new church building, which was started back in 2018. The main and integral element of the church is the iconostasis. Our parish has placed a manufacturing order for the new iconostasis in Western Ukraine, however, we were unable yet to collect the necessary funds to pay it off.

Therefore, we ask you for help. If you wish and can contribute to this good cause and make any feasible donation for the new iconostasis, we will be greatly thankful. We ask for God’s blessings for you all and your close ones and thank you wholeheartedly for any help.

The Lord make His face to shine upon you, And be gracious to you.

What is an iconostasis used for?

An iconostasis is a dividing structure that separates the altar and priests from the rest of the church and congregation. Religious activities behind the iconostasis are hidden from view and sacraments like communion are brought through the doors to the congregation.

What does iconostasis symbolize?

The iconostasis symbolizes the separation of humans and god and also the holy and worldly realms. The congregation is not allowed to pass through the doors into the area where the altar lies. Instead, priests come out from the sacred area and present the power of God to the congregation.

What is the genesis of iconostasis?

The iconostasis finds its roots in the Jewish Tabernacle and (later) Temple, where the sacred Holy of Holies, where God was supposed to dwell, was kept separate from the rest of the structure. This dividing of the sacred and worldly spaces continued into early Christianity when the Roman Basilica was divided similarly. From there, it has mainly survived through Byzantine tradition into the Eastern Catholic and Orthodox Christian traditions.
